Wednesday 23rd July - walks *** – Newbourne to Hemley – sunny periods.

We had things to do early in Felixstowe so ended up walking along Felixstowe prom, with the wind offshore it was quite pleasant before returning home for breakfast and exercises in the garden being joined by both our cats:) I then packed the usual picnic and headed out in the van around one, I decided to drive out on the Kirton road hoping to see a combine working, sadly none spotted and ended up parking at the little park in Newbourne, a spot we have spent many happy hours with the kids we used to look after. We had lunch in the van before setting off on a walk, down to the wooden walkway through the willow plantation, there was loads of butterflies about, we even spotted a toad! We crossed farmland ending up at Hemley church where we watched loads of butterflies on a buddleia bush before returning to the van for a cuppa, we then collected two boxes of big blackberrys and some cooking apples before returning to Felixtowe via Gulpher Road where there was loads of bales in the fields so the combines are about, just haven’t seen them yet!
